Pro Masking film is one of the best masking films available and can be used on papers in stead of Frisket film or most other surfaces. When warmed with a hair dryer or heat gun (not too hot) it becomes conformable and will stretch around curved areas. Ideal for Motorcycle parts. It can be hand cut or used on a plotter. It is recommended to use a light tack application paper or the Pro Masking film as a transfer film as most other transfer papers are too sticky and may lift the mask after application. If you use the Pro Mask or a stickier application paper it is sometimes best to stick and remove the application film 2 or 3 times on a surface before applying the cut mask so it is not as tacky. When applied, press down the edges to ensure good contact with the surface. On vehicle parts, helmets etc, it is recommended you warm the mask a little and press down to ensure a good edge.
IMPORTAN!
Ensure the painted surface you apply the mask to is fully dry. This is especially important with Solvent painted base coats and clear coats. If the solvent gasses are still escaping under the film they will bond to the glue on the mask which will then remain on the painted surface. Often requiring the surface to be re painted. This is extremely rare and if you adhere to good working practices i.e. allow the paint to fully dry, you will not experience this problem. It is also worth pointing out that this applies to most other vinyl’s and does not reflect on the quality of the Pro Mask.
